Five Steps to Healthy Homemade Baby Food
- Wash your hands and equipment with warm soapy water and rinse them well.
- Scrub and peel the fruit and vegetables you’ll be using.
- Bake, steam, roast or microwave the fruit and vegetables until tender.
- Puree the fruit and/or vegetables in a food processor, blender, immersion blender or food mill with a little liquid, such as water, breast milk or formula. Or mash with a fork if your baby can handle more texture.
- Store the baby food in the refrigerator if using within 1 to 2 days. For later use, freeze in ice cube trays or single-serve containers. When ready to use, thaw in the refrigerator.
