Heart & Stroke Coalitions
The Congressional Heart and Stroke Coalition is a bipartisan group of Senators and Representatives that work to raise awareness about the prevalence and severity of cardiovascular disease and the importance of research, prevention, and treatment.
The association formed the National Coalition for Heart and Stroke Research in 1995 to increase awareness about the importance of heart and stroke research within Congress and to increase funding for federal heart and stroke research.
The NHLBI Constituency Group advocates for increased funding for the National Institutes of Health’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute that provides “global leadership in research, training and education to prevent and treat heart, lung, blood and sleep disorders.”
